Are you interested in creating a website, but you don't understand why some people say the price is 3,000 UAH, while others say 100,000? Where is the truth?
My name is Mykhailo Pylypenko, I am a WordPress developer with over 10 years of experience. Over the years, I have created dozens of projects — from simple business cards to online stores with thousands of products. In this article, I will analyze the real prices on the market, explain what they depend on, and tell you where you can save money and where you definitely shouldn't.
Short answer: how much does a website cost?
If you don't have time to read the entire article, here is the main table:
| Site type | Designer (DIY) | Freelancer | Web studio |
|---|---|---|---|
| Landing (1 page) | 500–2,000 UAH/month | 5,000–15,000 UAH | 15,000–40,000 UAH |
| Business card website (3–5 pages) | 800–3,000 UAH/month | 8,000–20,000 UAH | 25,000–60,000 UAH |
| Corporate website (10+ pages) | Difficult to implement | 15,000–40,000 UAH | 40,000–120,000 UAH |
| Online store | 1,500–5,000 UAH/month | 20,000–60,000 UAH | 50,000–200,000+ UAH |
*Prices are current for the summer of 2026 for the Ukrainian market.
But this table is just the tip of the iceberg. I will explain further,WhyThe prices are exactly as they are and what is included (and what is NOT included) in each option.
What does the price of a website depend on?
1. Site type
This is the most important factor. A landing page is one page with one purpose (for example, to collect applications). A corporate website is a full-fledged resource with dozens of pages, a blog, and feedback forms. An online store is even more complicated: a product catalog, a shopping cart, payment, delivery, and a personal account.
The more functions — the more hours of operation — the higher the price. This is logical.
2. Design: template or customized
- Template design— the developer takes a ready-made theme and adapts it to your brand. It's faster and cheaper (from 5,000 UAH).
- Individual design— everything is drawn from scratch to suit your needs. It's more expensive (from 15,000 UAH for the design alone), but you get a unique look.
My advice: for small and medium-sized businesses, a template design with high-quality customization is the best option. You get a professional look without overpaying.
3. Platform (CMS)
| Platform | For whom | Monthly cost |
|---|---|---|
| WordPress | The most versatile. Websites, blogs, stores | Hosting from 500 UAH/year |
| Shopify | Online stores (easy start) | From $29/month (~1,200 UAH) |
| Tilda | Landing pages, simple sites | From 750 UAH/month |
| OpenCart | Large online stores | Hosting from 500 UAH/year |
| Good | Stores (Ukraine) | From 549 UAH/month |
WordPress remains the most popular choice because youdon't pay for the system itself— it's free. You only pay for hosting, domain, and developer work.
4. Functionality
Each additional feature is additional development hours:
- Multilingualism (Ukrainian + English) — +3,000–8,000 UAH
- Integration with CRM (Bitrix24, HubSpot) — +5,000–15,000 UAH
- Online payment (LiqPay, Mono, Wayforpay) — + UAH 3,000–8,000
- Basic SEO optimization — +3,000–10,000 UAH
- Chatbot or online consultant — +2,000–5,000 UAH
Who does it: freelancer, studio or designer
Option 1: Do it yourself on a designer
Tilda, Wix, Webfloware online designers where you assemble a website from ready-made blocks, like a Lego designer.
- Pros:Can be done in 1–3 days, no technical knowledge required.
- Cons:Monthly payment (over 2 years you will pay more than for WordPress), limited functionality, poor SEO, you do not "own" the site.
When is it suitable:Testing an idea, a temporary page to launch an ad.
Option 2: Order from a freelancer
- Pros:Individual approach, lower price than in the studio, direct communication.
- Cons:There is a risk of running into a newbie, one developer may get sick or disappear.
When is it suitable:Small and medium-sized businesses that want a quality website without overpaying for a studio brand. Average price: UAH 8,000–40,000.
Option 3: Order from the web studio
- Pros:Full team (designer + developer + manager + SEO), contract, guarantees.
- Cons:Prices are 2–5 times higher, the process is longer, and there is bureaucracy.
When is it suitable:Big business, complex projects with a large budget. Average price: UAH 40,000–200,000+.
What you can save on (without losing quality)
- Use a ready-made theme.A high-quality premium WordPress theme costs 1,500–3,000 UAH, while a custom design looks like it costs 30,000.
- Prepare content in advance.Texts, photos, logo — if all this is ready, the developer will spend less time.
- Start with the minimum.Start a site with 5–7 pages, then add functionality as needed.
- Choose WordPress. You don't pay for a CMS, plugins are mostly free. After 2 years it will be much cheaper than a builder.
What you can't save on
- Hosting.Cheap hosting for 200 UAH/year = slow website = loss of customers + drop in Google.
- Adaptability (mobile version).70–80% of visitors will come from a phone.
- Basic SEO.A website without SEO is like a store without a sign in a dead end alley.
